Once the computer is started, there are many key combinations your work. You will find a short list of those functions

power... Shows a dialog to stop, pause or restart

Then:

 

  • S... sleeping mode
  • R... restart
  • esc... reset
  • cmd-. (point)... cancel
  • Return ou Enter... shut down
  • cmd-ctrl-power... force restart (only in case of emergency)

    ctrl-cmd-opt-power... Fast shut down

    cmd-opt-esc... Forces the current application to quit

    cmd-maj.-3... Screenshot

    cmd-maj.-4... Screen after selecting the area with the mouse

    cmd-ctl-maj.-3... Performs a screenshot and send it in the clipboard

    cmd-ctl-maj.-4... The user defines the area of screen shot and send it in the clipboard

    cmd-tab... Switches to the next application

    cmd-maj.-tab... Switches to the previous application

    cmd-espace... Toggle the keyboard layout or writing system.


    opt-«empty trash... »... Empty trash without warning message. Also remove locked files. Otherwise see another article.

    cmd-opt-D... Show/hide Dock
